The 2026 Tui Truck Stop Show and Shine Prize Categories

We’re excited to announce the official prize categories for the 2026 Tui Truck Stop Show & Shine. Whether you’re running solo or rolling in with a fleet, there’s a category for every rig — from vintage legends to modern heavy hitters.

Main Categories

Star of the Show
Awarded to the most outstanding truck in the show based on overall presentation, uniqueness, and public appeal. Judges will consider attention to detail, cleanliness, modifications, and overall wow factor.

Best Fleet
For fleets of three or more trucks from the same company. Judged on uniformity, branding consistency, overall presentation, and maintenance. A strong, cohesive company image is key.

Most Original
Awarded to the truck that remains closest to its original, unmodified condition. Factory specifications, authenticity, and preservation will be considered. Restorations to original condition are welcome; aftermarket modifications will not be favoured.

Local Star
Awarded to the best truck from a local owner or business (Wairarapa and Tararua). Judged on presentation, maintenance, and local pride shown through branding, design, or community involvement.

Best Image
Judged on branding, paintwork, signage, and overall aesthetic appeal — including murals, logos, or custom graphics. Eye-catching design and strong identity will stand out.

Judged on condition, presentation, modifications, and brand representation, with Kenworth heritage and design features in mind.

Best Mack
Recognising the best Mack truck based on presentation, originality, and alignment with Mack’s rugged reputation.

Best Freightliner
Awarded to the best-presented Freightliner, considering cleanliness, branding, and modifications.

Best Western Star
Judged on visual appeal, originality, and modifications while maintaining Western Star identity.

Best Other American
For American-made trucks not listed above. Judged on overall presentation, customisation, and maintenance.

European

Best Volvo
Awarded to the best-maintained and presented Volvo. Factory specs, modifications, and overall condition will be considered.

Best Scania
Judged on condition, presentation, and how well the truck represents Scania’s legacy and style.

Best Mercedes
Recognising excellence in presentation, branding, and maintenance.

Best Other European
For European trucks not listed above. Judged on visual appeal, originality, and condition.

Japanese

Best Fuso (Mitsubishi)
Judged on presentation, branding, and overall maintenance.

Best Hino
Judged on presentation, originality, modifications, and overall appeal.

Best Isuzu
Awarded to the best-maintained and visually appealing Isuzu on display.

Best Other Japanese
For Japanese brands not listed above. Judged on condition, uniqueness, and presentation.

Other Categories

Best Vintage (40+ Years)
Awarded to the best classic or vintage truck over 40 years old. Judged on restoration quality, originality, and historical significance.

Best Other
For trucks that don’t fit elsewhere but still stand out. Judged on presentation, uniqueness, and overall impact.
